Dune opened in June of 2004 in the space formerly occupied by Madison Avenue Cafe. Nick Weinstein, a graduate of Penn State University gained a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. Before Dune came to be he worked for The Stephen Starr Restaurant Organization in Philadelphia, managing The Continental and Tangerine. Locally, he began his training at age 15 working with Cary Neff, owner of Coquette Bistro & Raw Bar in Philadelphia. Nick has also trained in the kitchen at Blue Restaurant in Surf City,
As our menu states, Dune is driven by ingredients, seasonality & love! We specialize in seafood and only buy from purveyors that deliver 6 days a week to ensure freshness. Our motto is that we are only as good as our last meal served. The first dish and last dish will look and taste exactly the same and
our chef believes in letting the natural flavors of each ingredient come out on their own. He does not have a heavy hand when dressing salads or putting sauces with certain dishes. Our customers appreciate that we serve upscale food at reasonable prices in a casual laid-back atmosphere.
